Construction in Wright-Dunbar Business Village to begin
In association with the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historic Park, Wright Dunbar, Inc. has been working with the City of Dayton on a Planned Development to construct a $1.2M parking project for the commercial corridor of the Wright-Dunbar Village.
On August 4, the Dayton City Commission approved the Planned Development for the three parking lots and construction is scheduled to begin the week of August 23. The lots are planned in the area of Second Street, Broadway Avenue, and Fourth Street, and will provide parking for the National Park's Wright-Dunbar Interpretive Center in addition to businesses in the Wright-Dunbar Business Village.
The parking lots are designed according the Wright-Dunbar Design Guidelines and will feature extensive landscaping, lighting, and other features that will make them attractive amenities for the area neighborhoods as well as the commercial district.
The parking project is the result of a nine month collaboration among Wright Dunbar, Inc., the National Park Service, the City of Dayton, Greater Dayton RTA, Bank One, and Bucher-Woodrow Development Group. Montgomery County and the Four Seasons Garden Club have also supported this project. The lots were designed by Envision Works and will be constructed by Wilcon Construction Corp.
