Senator DeWine Visits Dayton's Wright Dunbar Business Village
U.S. Senator Mike DeWine (R-Ohio) and U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich (R-Ohio) announced that they have helped secure more than $1.6 million for the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park in the final Interior Appropriations bill for fiscal year 2004. The bill has passed both the House and Senate and will now go to the President for his signature.

"One hundred years ago the Wright Brothers accomplished a great feat that forever changed the world," said Senator DeWine. "As a member on the Senate Appropriations Committee, I am proud to have helped bring funds to Dayton on this anniversary, memorializing the place where this great innovation began. With these projects, my hope is that the people of Dayton and all Ohio will enjoy the Aviation Heritage Park and continue to visit and learn about our unique history in beginnings of flight."

"This year we recognized Ohio's bicentennial and celebrated the centennial of the Wright Brothers first flight. The Dayton Aviation Park plays an important role in Dayton's heritage, and these funds will continue to present Dayton as a city of great historical significance in Ohio and throughout the United States. I'm glad to help secure these funds which will help add to the technological leadership the city continues to provide the nation and world," said Voinovich.

Also funded in the bill is the Sun Watch Indian Village Museum and Visitor's Center, which will receive $375,000 for improvements.
