Wright-Dunbar Business Village News

Director of the National Park Service, Fran Mainella and Representative Mike Turner visit the Wright-Dunbar Business Village.

Director Mainella and Representative Turner toured the Wright-Dunbar Business Village and viewed the revitalization progress that has occurred since Director Mainella's visit two years ago.

Director Mainella was in town to sign an historic agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Dayton, Ohio on Thursday. This agreement establishes a new partnership between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Park Service.

The partnership will bring about a multi-year study that will determine whether the eleven historic Department of Veterans Affairs sites are eligible for landmark status, the nation's highest designation for a historic site. The National Park Service administers the National Historic Landmark program to identify, designate, recognize and protect resources of national significance. The Department of Veterans Affairs has determined that evaluation of these properties for National Historic Landmark eligibility will assist in the preservation of the properties.
