WDI Executive Director elected to the Board of Advisors of the National Trust for Historic Preservation
Mr. John E. Moore, Jr. of Dayton, Ohio has been elected to the Board of Advisors of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Mr. Moore will serve as advisor to the national nonprofit preservation organization for an initial three-year term.
Mr. Moore is the Executive Director of Wright Dunbar, Inc., a nonprofit public/private partnership that is charged with revitalizing and developing an historic urban corridor. During his tenure as Executive Director of Wright Dunbar, Inc., the organization has achieved certification from the National Main Street Program, and received community preservation awards from Heritage Ohio/Downtown Ohio, Inc. Preservation Dayton, Inc., and the Montgomery County Historical Society. Mr. Moore has played a key role in preservation as Board Chair of Heritage Ohio/Downtown Ohio, Inc. Mr. Moore also serves as Trustee for Bowling Green University, Dayton and Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau board member, Chair of the community advisory board for the League of Women Voters, and Chair of the Eastway Behavioral Health Corporation.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation, chartered by Congress in 1949, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the irreplaceable. It fights to save historic buildings and the neighborhoods and landscapes they anchor. Through education and advocacy, the National Trust is revitalizing communities across the country and challenges citizens to create sensible plans for the future.
