Construction Activities Planned for Wright-Dunbar Area
The following information is a brief update on construction activities slated to take place in the area bounded by West Fourth, South Broadway, Mercer, and South Williams. The area was marked by Haley-Dusa Engineering earlier in the week (3/18/04). City of Dayton Sewer Maintenance anticipates starting work this week to improve mains and install new laterals on West Fourth, South Broadway and Mercer.
During the time that the Broadway mains are improved, Broadway will be closed in both directions and traffic re-routed. Water Distribution should start their improvements soon, with DPL, SBC and Time-Warner beginning work in mid-April to bury overhead utilities. The new alley, curb, sidewalk, and lighting construction specifications for South Broadway, and Mercer are currently being developed by Engineering.
WDI will be updated on that construction schedule as it develops. Since the City of Dayton was able to make utility improvements that affect Williams Street last year (before the City refurbished the brick street), visitors and staff will not be inconvenienced greatly as the City continue with the redevelopment in the Wright-Dunbar Urban Renewal Area. If you have any questions about this information, please call the City of Dayton at 333-3769.
