Smokin' Joes Café Expansion occurs in the Wright Dunbar Business Village
Joe Black will officially opened the doors to his new restaurant on Wednesday, September 24. Formerly focused on a successful catering and carry-out business, Joe was encouraged by his customers to open a sit-down restaurant.
"My customers were saying they wanted to be able to enjoy this food on a regular basis, to come and relax while eating good homecookin'-styled meals," said Joe Black.
And homecooking it is - from Smokin's Joes bar-be-qued ribs to his stuffed chicken breasts, customers will not leave hungry. Joe plans to have a full buffet on Sunday afternoons, designed to especially appeal to people who want a big Sunday dinner without having to cook it.
Smokin' Joes newly remodeled restaurant space features textured walls, wood paneling and exposed brick blending history with a unique urban style. The restaurant is also designed to accommodate small music ensembles, such as jazz trios, which Joe plans to feature on weekend nights.
"Smokin' Joe's expansion is part of the movement to rekindle unique dining experiences here in the Village. This restaurant will complement the shopping and cultural opportunities that are coming together on W. Third Street," said Allen Elijah, Director of Projects and Programs at Wright Dunbar, Inc.
