Historic Name: "Midget Theatre"
According to Curt Dalton's book, When Dayton Went to the Movies, the Midget Theater was named in honor of Sherman W. Potterf, the theater manager. Potterf was a midget and used is height to market the movie theater. Advertisements stated, "Nothing small about the midget- Only the manager." The theater enjoyed success from 1913-1928, especially after it began showing Renfax Musical Talking Motion Pictures in 1915.
