Historic name: "Hoover Block"
Built by Zachary T. Hoover, who owned a drug store across the street. Hoover's son-in-law Frank Hale ran a grocery store in part of this building from 1896-1916 and was mayor of Dayton from 1922-26. Location of the Wright Brothers printing business from 1890-1895. While at this location, the Wrights printed The Dayton Tattler, a newspaper written by Paul Laurence Dunbar for Dayton's African American population.
