City Forest of Dayton is a residential development firm located in the Wright Dunbar Business Village. City Forest will construct 70 new homes in the Wright-Dunbar area. The homes will begin as rental properties with the option to purchase in fifteen years. City Forest homes feature four different floor plans, each including four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a garage along with many other amenities such as central air and gas heat, alarm systems, washer and dryer hookups, and dishwashers. 14 of the 70 houses will be ADA accessible. City Forest looks at areas in need of revitalization and economic development for their housing developments hoping that their efforts help generate economic growth in the area.
Jan Velkoff, property manager for City Forest of Dayton, has noticed a return of people to the Wright Dunbar and Wolf Creek neighborhoods that have either lived or have relatives in these areas. Velkoff is encouraged by the revitalization efforts in the commercial corridor and thinks that these efforts work effectively with the goals of City Forest.
