A priority board is a group of elected citizen volunteers who meet monthly to address neighborhood concerns and to take action to improve their neighborhoods. The City of Dayton created the priority board system in 1971. As the official citizen voice for their neighborhoods, the Priority Boards advise the City on neighborhood concerns and problems. The board members take an active role in planning and making recommendations to the City for development, revitalization, and the allocation of City Funds.

The Innerwest Priority Board is located in the Wright-Dunbar Business Village and they coordinate programs of direct benefit to citizens such as youth empowerment/clean-up programs, and have helped organize neighborhood watch associations, block clubs, festivals and other events.
