The Dayton Department of Fire is one of the neighbors in the Wright-Dunbar Business Village. Folks can visit the office and learn about a career in Firefighting. Dale Crane works in the recruiting office and has been a recruiter for the last couple of years. The office's location in the Wright-Dunbar Business Village is helpful for recruiting efforts, as it is very accessible for Dayton residents.

Right now, Crane is focusing on the education of young people from grade school to high school. Crane works with the kids through summer camps and school visits. His goal is to interest young people in the Fire Department as a possible career choice.

The office also displays interesting artifacts related to Dayton's history in firefighting, including historic fire axes, hose nozzles and a fire call box.
